Our Christian Wedding Playlists (that wasn’t boring)
Okay, I get asked this constantly, so I figured it was time to finally write it out.
My husband and I got married on July 22, 2023, and from day one, I knew I wanted the entire day to reflect our faith, including the music. We’re both super careful about what we listen to, and honestly, I just didn’t want any songs with cussing or weird lyrics about stuff that goes totally against what we believe. Like… I’m not trying to walk into my marriage with music blasting that literally worships the opposite of what we stand for.
So we were intentional with it. I built playlists for every part of the wedding:
Pre-Ceremony – what guests listened too while arriving and finding their seats
Cocktail Hour – clean, upbeat music that felt like a warm hug and a mini dance party
Reception – okay, this one gets the most questions… so let’s talk about it:
We didn’t do the whole “modern top hits” playlist because honestly, almost everything out there right now is filled with lyrics I’d never want spoken over my marriage, let alone be blasted through speakers on my wedding day. So we went a different route.
Instead, our reception was packed with:
80s + 90s hits
Latin music (of course we had Selena Quintanilla)
Phil Collins
Earth, Wind & Fire and much more!
And honestly? It was a ton of fun, clean throwbacks that kept everyone on the dance floor. And to this day, the number one thing people comment on my Tiktok videos asking me about is:
“What songs did you play at your wedding?”
”What were those playlists?!”
”Where can I find the link to your playlist?”
So finally here they are! Whether you’re planning a faith-centered wedding, or just want music that feels good and keeps your spirit at peace, I hope these help. I’m linking all the Spotify playlists below so you can grab what you love and make it your own.
My Pre-Ceremony Playlist
Thanks for reading and for being here. If you're planning your own faith-based wedding (or even just dreaming about it), I hope this gives you a little inspo. And if you have questions or want help making your own playlist, I’m always down to share more behind the scenes.
Until then, enjoy the playlists!
